[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Hello, this year’s Papa John promises to be the biggest and most exciting yet!

I would like to take a few minutes to explain a few things to better prepare you for your journey to Revelstoke and give you a better idea of how it all began.

First of all, the late Papa John Archer was instrumental in Revelstoke getting its first Moto Coss track in the late 70’s in the industrial park area of town. When that track was decommissioned 8 years ago,  Papa John once again supplied us with the equipment to build our current track. His son and our Vice President, Terry Archer, is the main track builder and we could not have done anything with out his huge amount of dedication and work to get our track and facility to what it is now. Terry’s sons Skyller and Devin are very avid riders and John’s wife Phyllis and Terry’s wife Tracey will all be out at the event in true moto family fashion!

Revelstoke is a Resort town. And we are very fortunate to have something called the BC Resort Municipality Fund. Basically, how that works is that for every hotel room rented, a very small percentage of that is put into the “resort fund”. Revelstoke hotel rooms are extremely popular in the winter with our booming ski hill and snowmobile industry. The “shoulder” seasons, (the prime dirt biking) are not as busy. The local Resort Municipality Fund Board uses the fund to put money into projects to help generate more consistent hotel room bookings and to help bring more tourism revenue to our City.

The Revy Riders have worked extremely hard to tap into this and we have successfully built some of our very best trails using money from this Fund!

In fact, the first ever Papa John Classic was created as a way of showing the Resort Fund Board that people would actually come to here to ride, book rooms, have a meal or two, and enjoy the beautiful City of Revelstoke. So far, they have been very impressed!

Please consider the above information when deciding if you are camping or staying in a hotel. The hotel option would greatly help us obtain more funding for the future to build more amazing trails and to further expand our awesome riding area!

With that being said, please be sure to check out www.seerevelstoke.com

The field is large and will accommodate many people and vehicles. Please leave the area as tidy as when you arrived.

If that gets full, there is room close to Glacier House Resort, close to the power line, where they park for snowmobiling.
